The long-awaited return of for Always Aim High Events

In 2020, North Wales based Always Aim High Events were looking forward to celebrating their 10th anniversary with a full calendar of spectacular triathlon, running and cycling events. The pandemic put a halt to all of this, but now, finally, 15 months later they have had the green light to run their first event – The Snowman Triathlon.

Managing Director and Co-owner Tim Lloyd said “This last year and a half has been unprecedented for us as a small independent business, the uncertainty of not knowing if and when events would return has been extremely difficult. This news today that we finally have the green light for our first triathlon is the best feeling. The one thing that has got us through is the support we have had throughout the pandemic from the Always Aim High community, the love for our events has been proven through the kindness of our participants, who have stayed with us since our first deferrals back in 2020.”

Following an announcement made by the Welsh Government last week that outdoor sporting events have now been given the go ahead, it will allow the company to resume what is left of their events calendar for 2021. Although this is great news it does mean that some that have already been pushed in 2022 will not go ahead this year.

Tim added “To be fair to our loyal customers we had to make a call earlier on this year on some of our events that were due to take place at the start of summer, this included our iconic Snowdonia Trail Marathon which attracts hundreds of participants from all over the country which will now run in 2022. Therefore, our event calendar will resume from the end of July with the Snowman Triathlon being our first event”

Snowman Triathlon 2019

The Snowman Triathlon is known as one of the UK’s toughest Triathlons, taking place in the stunning location of Capel Curig with Plas y Brenin National Outdoor Centre used as a venue to host the event.

A representative from Plas y Brenin added “We’re absolutely delighted to hear that we’ll be able to welcome the Snowman back to Plas y Brenin. The weekend always brings a huge buzz and excitement to the centre and will be the first major sporting event to be hosted here since restrictions have begun to ease. Everyone at the centre is immensely pleased for all the participants who will now be able to enjoy a world-class event, and we look forward to giving them the warmest of welcomes after what has been an incredibly challenging time for so many.”
