Outlaw Half Holkham makes improvements for second edition in 2017

The first edition in 2016 was widely regarded as a triumph, and now organisers, OSB Events, have announced further improvements for the second edition of the Outlaw Half Holkham, which will be held on Sunday 2nd July 2017.

The bike route for the Outlaw Half Holkham has been updated and released for 2017. Organisers, OSB Events, have listened to feedback, and improved the route for this summer’s middle distance event. Due to popular demand, an elite wave will also be included for the first time.

The launch event received 99.5% positive feedback, but there was concern voiced by some about a particular roundabout near Fakenham. A diversion to avoid this has been signed off by the local council and will improve the experience for all competitors in 2017.

For the first time, an elite wave will be included this year. Athletes will have the option to apply to be part of a small elite group that goes off first, enabling them to race head-to-head against each other. Details of how to apply for the elite wave will be released soon, and athletes will do so rather than compete in their age group, as long as they have achieved minimum time standards.

The North Norfolk based race was launched last year. It’s based at the stunning Holkham Estate, which boasts acres of beautiful parkland and wildlife, its own beach and a long-distance triathlete as its owner. The event is aimed at all levels of triathlete, from those racing at the top level, to those aspiring to complete the distance for the first time.

Entries are still open and early-bird pricing is in place until the end of the month. As well as the middle distance race, there is also a 10km run and 2.5km kids dash event.
