Magnus Ditlev will make the trip out to the Middle East for his third full-distance race of the year, as the Danish star takes on IRONMAN Israel for the first time.

Having smashed the course record at Challenge Roth before finishing a brilliant third at the men’s IRONMAN World Championship in Nice, the giant Dane revealed he is keen to chase another win and remains motivated to race once more in 2023.

With 2024 Kona qualification and a solid prize purse up for grabs, the 25-year-old Ditlev will try to make hay whilst the sun is shining.

Magnus motivated for Israel

Ditlev will hope to maintain his 100% podium record in the races that he’s finished this season when he lines up in Israel. Training in Lanzarote at the moment, he shared he is motivated and ready to go.

Writing on his Instagram page, he said: “Happy to announce that my next race will be IRONMAN Israel on November 3! After Nice I felt that I still had the motivation and will to race one more time this season. The race will also serve as an opportunity for me to complete my 2024 Kona validation early which gives me more freedom for the planning of next year.

Ditlev prep going smoothly

“Training towards IRONMAN Israel is going according to plan and Club La Santa is treating me well! It’s always a pleasure training here. Everything is just simple and easy which is perfect for preparing for a race late in the season. Head down for a few more weeks now!”

Last year, Ditlev also scheduled in a late end-of-season full-distance race to secure his slot for the world championship, so to see him follow the same plan this year suggests he is once again targeting early qualification.
