LUCY GOSSAGE CONFIRMS COMMITMENT TO RACING IN UK & IRELAND IN 2017

Join Lucy Live on Thursday 16th March @ 7.30pm

One of the world’s leading female pros, UK’s Lucy Gossage, 6-time IRONMAN Champion, has confirmed that she will be aiming to compete in all IRONMAN events across the UK & Ireland in 2017.

To discuss her year ahead in more detail, Lucy will be on Facebook Live at 7.30pm on Thursday 16th March ready to answer all things IRONMAN.

An outstanding 2016 season saw Lucy crowned Champion of both IRONMAN UK and IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire. Furthermore she gained an inspirational 9th place at the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona despite breaking her collar bone just eight weeks before.

Having returned to part time work in November as an oncologist, Lucy now has her eyes set on racing all Pro races across the UK & Ireland in 2017.

“I just absolutely love racing in the UK. Nothing beats a home crowd and as much as I enjoy Kona, it still doesn’t compare with the experience for me as racing on home soil.

So as long as my body holds out I’m intending to return to defend my title at 70.3 Staffordshire and IRONMAN UK. I’m also really looking forward to experiencing the city 70.3’s of Edinburgh and Dublin for the first time.

IRONMAN Wales is one of my favourite races – it’s phenomenal in every way and unfortunately timing wise it’s impossible to race both Kona and Wales, so it’s Wales for me in 2017 and I can’t wait!

70.3 Weymouth could be slightly more of a challenge so soon after Wales, but we’ll see closer to the time!”

Lucy is the ultimate example of how you can juggle the balance of work and IRONMAN training as well as overcoming the mental and physical challenges of injuries to still perform at your best.

Send in your questions and make sure you join Lucy Live on the IRONMAN Europe Facebook page @ 7.30pm on Thursday 16th March.
