20 Sprint distance medals for the GB Age-Group team in Lausanne

Hodgson, Dillon and Crome defended their 2018 wins

1961 athletes. 52 different nations. 324 British starters – and some truly competitive racing going in today at the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Lausanne, with the Age-Group Sprint Triathlon World Champs.

Here are the scores on the doors from the British team, who topped the medal table with 20 medals (23.8% of the 84 presented) from 16.5% of the starters.

James Hodgson (25-29), Michelle Dillon (45-49) and Peggy Crome (75-79) all retained the Gold medals they won at the Gold Coast World Championships last year.

Emma Fisher (50-54) produced a stunning run performance to beat the Sydney 2000 Olympic Gold** (Brigitte McMahon) and Silver (Michellie Jones) medallists, in what was a stunning high quality field. That makes her Triathlon (Sprint) and Duathlon (Standard) World Champion this year.

(** the same Brigitte McMahon busted for taking EPO in 2005).
