Second place at Challenge Melbourne for the ‘Brit Abroad’

She’s still hunting for top spot… but you’d have to say that the first quarter (and a bit…) of 2017 has been rather good for Laura Siddall.

After a memorable second place to Yvonne Van Vlerken at Challenge Wanaka, the former multiple Age-Group World Champion went on to IRONMAN New Zealand and secured her second full distance M-Dot podium, with second place in Taupo. After a very late (Thursday!) decision to race Challenge Melbourne on Sunday, it was another second place finish for the C.V.

Home athlete Annabel Luxford was the class of the race, building a healthy cushion on the swim and bike legs. Laura pulled back a minute over the half marathon, but had to give best to the talented Aussie for the win. “she’s a very classy athlete and one of the best in the world, and sadly couldn’t match her today!
