Who were the speedy amateur athletes at IRONMAN UK, Bolton, on Sunday? Here they are in pictures.

Sunday’s race saw a fantastic marathon comeback for Joe Skipper and another dominant display from Katrina Matthews to take the Professional race honours. You can find our more in our report and also our photo gallery.

Here, we focus upon the top performing age-group athletes. This includes, with great thanks once again to  Huw Fairclough (www.huwfaircloughphotography.co.uk)/ IRONMAN, pictures from the awards collection on Monday.

Unlike previous years, due to COVID restrictions, there were no podium awards in the usual manner, rather a time period within which the athletes could collect their trophies. Consequently, individual athlete photos rather than the complete podium this year. Hopefully we’ll be back to normal service in 12 months’ time.
