Georgia Taylor-Brown, the most decorated female triathlete in Olympic history, is poised to make her swim, bike and run return.
The British superstar was part of the gold medal-winning Mixed Relay team in Tokyo in 2021, where she also won individual silver.
And she completed the full set of Olympic medals with a bronze in the relay in Paris but she has since taken a mini break from the sport, since when she’s thrown herself into plenty of cycling, both on the road and gravel.
But she’s now set to roar back into the triathlon picture – first at WTCS Hamburg on 12-13 July and then in this year’s Supertri League.
‘Back on the blue carpet’
She hinted at the WTCS return on an Instagram post when she said: “Altitude camp nearly done and then I’m back on the blue carpet ?.”
And a look at the provisional start lists in Hamburg – for what are Sprint distance events – show her as part of a five-strong British women’s team alongside Beth Potter, Liv Mathias, Sian Rainsley and Kate Waugh.
Nearly all the big names are likely to be involved, with Olympic and World champion Cassandre Beaugrand of France, winner last time out at WTCS Alghero, topping the field.
Double act
And two weeks after that GTB will look to defend her third overall Supertri crown, with the first race taking place in Toronto.
She is part of a power-packed Crown Racing line-up which has just been unveiled, with Beaugrand a team-mate in that sphere.
That incredible double act is joined by French star Emma Lombardi, experienced Supertri athlete Emma Jeffcoat, and young talents Aspen Anderson and Barbara De Koning.
It is all change for Crown Racing in their men’s squad for 2025, with Vasco Vilaça making the move from Stars & Stripes to head their line-up.
Canadian duo Tyler Mislawchuk and Charles Paquet will be well supported in a home opener in Toronto with Crown rounding out their squad with Spain’s Roberto Sanchez Mantecon, promising Australian talent Brayden Mercer and Portugal’s Ricardo Batista.
Crown Racing team manager, four-time triathlon World champion Chris McCormack, said: “Crown Racing didn’t just participate last season – we set the standard, achieving a clean sweep of the women’s, men’s, and team League titles. As defending champions, maintaining that level of excellence is our clear objective.”
The athletes get their first taste of Supertri action this year in Toronto on July 26, before tackling the other venues for 2025, which include Chicago (August 23), Jersey (September 21) and Toulouse (October 5).
