Former age-group triathlete Georgia Bell picked up an impressive silver medal at the European Athletics Championship in Rome last week, with the 30-year-old continuing her epic rise in the sport.

The former University of California-Berkley athlete, who was a promising runner before stepping away from the sport, has made impressive strides in athletics since returning to the track post-pandemic.

Balancing a job in cyber security with her athletics, Bell will now set her sights on the Olympic Games trials as she makes a bid to represent Team GB in Paris this summer.

Having won the World Duathlon Championship title in 2023, when she represented the British age-group team in Ibiza, Bell has since seen her athletics go from strength-to-strength.

Earlier this year, she signed a professional contract with Nike, before qualifying to represent Team GB at the World Indoor Championship in Glasgow and then the European Outdoor Championship in Rome.

Running 4:05.33 in the final in the Italian capital, the British star finished second behind Irish athlete Ciara Mageean to take home her first ever medal at a major championship.

Expressing her emotions on her social media @georgiabelltheduathlete after the race, the Paris born pro said that the entire experience was incredible.

“Blood, sweat and silver in Rome. Loved every second of last night. There’s just something about championship racing that makes you feel alive. Congratulations to the Queen of Europe @ciaramageeanrunon an incredible win.”
