Carl Avery and Naomi Eaton are the fastest Brits in Penticton

Scores on the doors from the ITU Sprint Duathlon World Championships…

A little delayed in reporting on this one (apologies, Tri247 Twitter followers will know that Mr Editor has been over at IRONMAN Kalmar in recent days), but here is our first roundup from the Penticton ITU Multisport Festival in Canada, where the first events were the ITU Duathlon World Championships. Great Britain had something on a medal-fest in the Elite races (report HERE), across Elite, U23 and Juniors. Here are the results from the Age-Group Sprint Duathlon.

The fastest man overall was Carl Avery (30-34), who was hoping for selection for the Elite team he raced in last year. The fastest British female was Naomi Eaton, who was third fastest female Age-Group athlete en route to taking Gold in the 30-34 division. That meant that Naomi stepped up one position from the Silver she gained last year in Aviles, Spain.

Top 3 fastest overall British athletes:

MEN

  1. Carl Avery – 58:03 (30-34 Gold)
  2. Robert Lightowler – 58:32 (20-24 Gold)
  3. Nick Samuels – 59:40 (35-39 Gold)

WOMEN

  1. Naomi Eaton (30-34 Gold)
  2. Samantha Fawcett (30-34 Silver)
  3. Jacqui Phillips (50-54 Silver) **

(** That was Jacqui’s 15th ITU/ETU podium finish)
