Just as was the case with the (rescheduled) 2021 edition in October, Sunday’s OSTO Challenge Salou in Spain saw the format changed to a duathlon format. A polar front saw the planned 1.9km swim amended to a 4km run, the event now being held in duathlon format.

With a shortened swim in South Africa and a cancelled swim in Melilla, it was another challenging weekend for event organisers.

The Salou races were won by Great Britain’s Fenella Langridge and and Denmark’s World Triathlon Long Distance Champion, Kristian Høgenhaug.

In addition to those reports from Sunday, we can now bring you an ‘in pictures’ reflection of the race, thanks once again to regular TRI247 contributor, José Luis Hourcade (www.joseluishourcade.com), who was on-site to record the action.
