Jonny Brownlee and Alex Yee both miss Sunday’s Mixed Rely at WTCS Leeds following that horrific crash during Saturday’s Men’s individual race.

In the immediate aftermath of Saturday’s brutal race in Roundhay Park hope remained that the pair may be okay to compete on Sunday afternoon (1325 start local time).

But it quickly became evident that Brownlee would miss out after he revealed on Instagram that he had suffered a broken elbow in the crash.

There was no news about Yee’s participation at that stage – he came away with a cracked bike frame and helmet, but without serious injury.

Great Britain team lineup

Latest start lists on the official World Triathlon website though show no Yee, which means only Georgia Taylor-Brown of that golden Tokyo quartet will line up for her home race. Jess Learmonth was already ruled out because of a hip injury.

Great Britain will now line up with Tom Bishop leading off before handing over to Sophie Coldwell, who produced that brilliant third place in the women’s individual race.

Grant Sheldon will step in to take over on leg three, before Taylor-Brown brings it home for the local team.

Mixed Relay TV guide

A total of 20 teams will line up for Sunday’s race, which should be a real thriller.

There are of course some changes to the Mixed Relay format for 2022, including an order change in the team lineups. For full details you can click here.

Start time is 1325 local time on Sunday (1425 CET and 0825 Eastern Time). The event will get full BBC broadcast coverage on Sunday (1315 to 15:10 – BBC Two). For those outside the UK, the usual TriathlonLive streaming service will also be available.
