There has been a fascinating twist to the upcoming Supertri season as Brownlee Racing have poached the series’ most sought-after manager in British triathlon icon Tim Don.
Last year proved to be a struggle for the team, which is headed by Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, as they finished fourth out of four in the overall standings.
But recruiting Don, who has won two of the four teams titles so far contested and is widely regarded as one of the sharpest minds in the sport, is a major coup as they aim to build a winning Supertri League team and develop a new wave of homegrown talent.

Richard Downey, the man behind Blue Carpet Sports Management along with Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, had Don as his first ever client and has used his long-time relationship to persuade him to jump ship from Podium Racing for the 2025 season and beyond.
Four-time World Champion Don joins as both Team Manager for the Supertri League campaign and General Manager, overseeing the entire Brownlee Racing franchise.
Don said: “Working with Brownlee Racing and Blue Carpet Management to start to shape a British franchise within Supertri is very exciting. I believe we have the right mix of experience and youth to develop athletes’ skills and racing tactics to be a global dominant force within the professional world of triathlon.
“With new venues and old venues returning for 2025, it is all about learning and development with an eye on the top spot in the League as well.
“With my no stone unturned philosophy we will be working hard behind the scenes to make everything all about the best race-day performance from every athlete. 2025 is going to be very exciting and just the beginning for Brownlee Racing as a powerhouse in our sport and beyond.”
Supertri focus for Jonny Brownlee
In terms of the team Don will oversee, three-time Olympic medallist Jonny Brownlee will lead from the front by committing to race the whole Supertri League campaign as his pinnacle of 2025.
He will be backed by a rotating men’s squad that includes Paris Olympic gold medallist Alex Yee, and British talents Marcus Dey, Oliver Conway and Brandan Pye.
For the women, the Brownlee Racing squad contains the ever-improving British talents and experienced Supertri athletes Olivia Mathias and Jess Fullagar as well as Tilly Anema and an international athlete in Belgium’s Jolien Vermeylen.
Mathias recently notched her first WTCS podium with third place behind Olympic champion Cassandre Beaugrand in Alghero and will be looking to build on a series of strong Supertri displays last year.
Brownlee Racing was founded by the Brownlee brothers in 2024 and launched as a platform to drive the sport forward and help cultivate the next generation of elite British triathlon talent.
Each team in Supertri League 2025 can name four male and four athletes at each event. All points accrued by the athletes count towards the Teams League over the course of the season.
The athletes get their first taste of Supertri action this year in Toronto on July 26, before tackling the other venues so far announced for 2025, which include Chicago (August 23), Jersey (September 21) and Toulouse (October 5).
